SUCCESSFUL UK PROPERTY INVESTMENT SEMINAR IN ROME

London law firm, Gregory Rowcliffe Milners (GRM) hosted their first property investment seminar for businesses in Rome on April 7th, 2011 at The St. Regis Rome.

The seminar, "Investimenti immobiliari nel Regno Unito" was jointly hosted with property company Global M&P Limited in collaboration with The British Chamber of Commerce for Italy, the British Consulate of Naples and UK Trade & Investment (UKTI).

The highly informative session was designed to provide Italian businesses contemplating investing in London or further afield in the UK, with an overview of some of the complexities and implications of UK property law and an insight into the current climate for investment. It attracted over 35 delegates all of whom had a keen interest in the topic, as evidenced by the numerous questions to the panel of speakers at the end of the presentations. Caterina Iodice, an Italian national and Italian and UK dual qualified lawyer who leads GRM’s Italian inward investment team reported that the firm was delighted with the success of the seminar, the first that they had held in Rome.

Caterina commented: “We were extremely pleased to receive so much interest in UK property investment from businesses and individuals in Rome. We have previously held similar seminars very successfully in Milan and in London, but this was our first time in Rome. Based on the response we received we are now investigating the possibility of hosting similar events in other cities, with Naples most likely to be our next venue.”

“The number of enquiries we receive as a result of these seminars, both concerning property matters and other more general business issues, shows that there is a strong continuing interest in the UK. Despite the economic recession it continues to be a major attraction for inward investment from throughout Italy.”
