GRM IN MILAN – OUR NOVEMBER 2010 PROPERTY SEMINAR

On November 11th we were delighted to host a property law seminar for Italian businesses at Milan’s prestigious Grand Hotel et de Milan right in the heart of the city.

The event, which was held in conjunction with property company Global M&P Ltd was designed to provide Italian businesses contemplating investing in London or further afield in the UK with an overview of some of the complexities and implications of UK property law. 

Over 70 representatives from a wide variety of businesses attended. The seminar commenced with an up-to-date summary of the state of the London property market by professionals from Global M&P. Our Italian market specialists Caterina Iodice and Olivia Cooper then followed up with an overview of both commercial and residential property matters and related taxation issues.  The event concluded with a lively question and answer session and panel discussion.

Caterina commented:

“The number of delegates who attended this seminar confirmed our view that there is a high level of interest amongst Italian businesses in finding out more about the opportunities and potential barriers connected with doing business in the UK. We were delighted to be able to interact with such a wide range of organizations and to help address some of their most challenging issues.”

The seminar was supported by The British Chamber of Commerce for Italy, the British Consulate General in Milan and UK Trade and Investment. It marks the start of a series of legal seminars which we are planning to hold at various locations in Italy in 2011 commencing with a commercial and property law seminar in Rome in the early part of the year.
