Jane Laidler

Joint Managing Partner and Head of Department

As well as jointly managing the firm with Chris Harper, Jane also heads our specialist Employment Law team.

She has a breadth of experience in employment law, both contentious and non-contentious, including issues of discrimination and in particular in Employment Tribunals through the full appeal process to the House of Lords. She advises employers and employees on complex employment issues and has special interest in the practical development of good management practices within the employment law framework.

She was a partner in Simmonds Church Smiles before it merged with GRM in 1999. She is a member of the Employment Lawyers Association, the Industrial Law Society, the Solicitors' Family Law Association and the British Association for Sports Law. She has contributed to many publications and given numerous seminars .

Jane Laidler

Chris Bannister

Partner

Chris joined GRM in September 2007, having gained over ten years’ experience as in-house counsel for Sea Containers/Orient Express and RCI Europe groups as well as substantial experience working in private practice with Mayfair firm Reid Minty and Sedgwick Kelly LLP in Watford.

Chris has particular expertise in the timeshare, travel and leisure sectors and extensive international experience of the legal and regulatory issues that affect businesses operating in these sectors. His languages include French and Spanish.

His experience covers the whole range of company/commercial legal work, including M&A, joint ventures, restructurings, commercial contracts, and much more.

Jan Hoppe

Partner

Jan is a Partner in GRM Corporate and as a German qualified lawyer ("Rechtsanwalt") also leads the team servicing the firm's extensive Anglo-German client base. He specialises in all aspects of company/commercial and corporate law, intellectual property and commercial contracts.

He studied law at the Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu Kiel (Germany) between 1990-1995; qualifying as a German lawyer in Berlin in 1998, before qualifying as a solicitor in England and Wales at the College of Law, London in July 2000.

He is a committee member of the Association of German Speaking Lawyers in Great Britain, a member of the British German Jurists' Association and Lloyd's and London Market Deutscher Verein (LLMDV).

Jan Hoppe

John Sharpe

Partner

John is a Corporate and Commercial specialist and a member of the Employment Law team.

He is particularly experienced in matters of Constitutional, Employment and Property law. He advises directors and shareholders of many private companies and holds a number of non-executive directorships as well as being a key adviser to several nationally known organisations.

He was originally a partner in the London firm of Milners Curry & Gaskell which merged with the then firm of Gregory, Rowcliffe & Co in 1988 to become what is now GRM. He is a member of the Administrative Law Bar Association and the Employment Law Association.

John Sharpe

Paul Holloway

Consultant

Paul is Consultant and former head of our Corporate and Commercial teams with vast experience in a wide variety of company/commercial work. In particular, he specialises in mergers and acquisitions, shareholder relationships, Stock Exchange listings and quotations, terms and conditions of business, intellectual property and partnerships.

His many years of practical experience advising and supporting all sizes and types of business and his position as GRM's representative on the international lawyers and accountants group, IGAL, make him one of our most senior business advisors.

Paul Holloway

Adrian Mezzetti

Consultant

Adrian is Consultant a former partner in the Corporate and Commercial team.

He handles mergers and acquisitions, management buyouts and general commercial contracts including sports-related transactions. He is the firm's charity partner and is a trustee of several charities. His work also involves constitutional issues, bank secured lending, joint ventures, pension scheme matters and employment problems.

Throughout his career he has developed a wide range of contacts and clients and is a director or secretary of a number of companies. He is a regular contributor and English law specialist to the publication "Insolvenzen in Europa", now in its fifth edition. He is also a trustee on the board of a London Hospital and has been appointed to the Court of the University of Bristol.

Helena Ross

Assistant Solicitor

Helena is a member of the Corporate and Commercial department with a particular interest in employment matters.

She graduated from Durham with a degree in Politics, having spent a year studying at the Law and Politics Institute in Aix-en-Provence, France and later went on to study law at BPP in London.  Her languages include French and Russian. 

In her spare time she enjoys swimming, cycling and running and competes regularly in triathlons and duathlons around the country.

Caterina Iodice

Avvocato - Italy

Caterina is a member of the GRM Corporate/Commercial team and as a qualified lawyer admitted to the Bar in Italy (“Avvocato”) in 2005, she is shortly to be admitted also as a solicitor in England and Wales and deals with Anglo-Italian clients’ matters.

 

She graduated the Second University of Naples in 2000, and subsequently obtained in 2002 a Masters’ Degree in European Law at Jean Monet Postgraduate School in Caserta, where she specialised in mergers and acquisitions issues within an international framework.

Throughout her career she has been involved in corporate and commercial legal work and has dealt with a wide range of commercial agreements.

She has a keen interest in rock-blues music, painting and sport, particularly volleyball.

Muna Jallow

Trainee Solicitor

Muna grew up in Austria and is an English-German bilingual. She graduated with a Law with German Law degree from University College London in 2005, having spent one of her years of study at Ludwig Maximilian Universität in Munich. Muna joined GRM in 2006 as a trainee solicitor having obtained a commendation in her LPC exams at the College of Law in London.
