William Bennett
Senior Partner
William is head of our branch office in Tunbridge Wells. He has wide experience of all types of property work, including trust, agricultural, commercial and domestic conveyancing, and has a special interest in planning and environmental matters. He has lectured to Building Societies on property law and conveyancing procedures.
He created the Tunbridge Wells branch office for Simmonds Church Smiles in 1980 as a specialist conveyancing department to widen the firm's client base. Since then he has built up a substantial practice offering litigation and private client work in addition to conveyancing, with the added advantage of immediate access to our commercial expertise in Bedford Row.
William served articles with Simmonds Church Rackham (later Simmonds Church Smiles), becoming a partner in 1973. He joined GRM in the 1999 merger.

Chris Barber
Associate Solicitor
Chris is an Associate in our Tunbridge Wells Office. He has experience in civil litigation and family Law as well as insolvency and contentious and non contentious property matters.
Chris started his career in 1968 with the firm of Wray Smith & Co, based in the Temple. He worked principally in their litigation department, becoming a partner there in 1979. Wray Smith & Co merged with Simmonds Church Smiles in 1995 and the firm of Simmonds Church Smiles merged with Gregory Rowcliffe Milners in 1999.
